The TEAM

Because of the ever increasing demand for paragliders with paramotor certification, SWING is tackling the requirements for motorised flight with a new range of paramotor wings called POWERPLAY. An independent development team was formed specifically for this purpose which is working on problems specific to motorised flight such as pitch moment, counter-torque and flight behaviour on weight shifting. The unique simulation software from our developer Dr. Stefan Müller is opening up new possibilities in profile development since the computer shows e.g., whether or not tuck angle and the speed range are "certifiable" for a paramotor glider. The sales department has a competent contact person available for POWERPLAY customers - Lars Pongs, an active ultralight, paramotor and paraglider pilot. POWERPLAY's mid-term goal is to be able to offer a full range of paramotor gliders which cover the various requirements of paramotor pilots.

The STING

The Sting is the first release of the new Swing motor glider section, Powerplay. The Sting is based on the Arcus glider, with its very broad weight range and its two certifications (DULV-German Ultralight Association and DHV 1/1-2). The Sting is designed for paramotor pilots who would also like to enjoy free flight without having to get a second wing. The Sting's launch behaviour is very easy and it has excellent performance with high passive safety and pleasant handling ranging from training to cross-country or distance flying.
It can be supplied with either the standard back-pack or with the stuff sack.

The Sting received DHV 1-2 and DULV 1 (suitable for training) considering the corresponding weight range.
Many schools use the Sting for students during training, since it is a very good glider for beginners as well as for experienced pilots. It is certified for motorized flying as well as for free flying. The unique riser system means that the Sting can be optimally fitted to any motor and no adjustment is necessary for free flight. The trimmer allows cruise speed to be increased to approx. 45 km/h and the counter-torque to be compensated without troublesome counter-braking.

The Sting is well-suited for beginners and safety-conscious social pilots who are looking for a reliable glider which will ensure that even nil-wind launches from the flat are not a nightmare. The four certified sizes cover a take-off weight range from 80-250 kg which means that even tandem trike-flying is possible with the Sting.
